For centuries, cats have been associated with death, and how they are perceived varies between cultures. In Western cultures, black cats are associated with bad luck, disease, and witches. This not only led to the mass killing of black cats, but also the “witches” who care for them. But in Ancient Egypt, cats are deified and mummified. Throughout history people linked cats with death or bad luck, and some of these beliefs still hold true today. What about Eastern beliefs ? In Iran like any other parts of our culture we confront paradoxical views. Some believe that cats are the representation of reincarnation some believe that they are evils especially the black ones. As an ailurophile (cat lover) I decided to follow my point of view and show the presence of cats near the graves. Until now I was lucky and could find cemeteries which accommodate mysterious cats.
